Linux web hosting provider Tublat
Web Hosting: what is it, why Linux and how to choose the best Tublat plan for your CMS.
What’s web hosting
With the term “web hosting” refers to the service that deals with holding your website. When you buy a hosting service, you are basically renting a space on a server, where you can store the archives and data necessary to make your website work correctly.
One of the first decisions you have to make is which operating system, must own the server which supports the hosting.
Why choose Linux hosting
Going for a Linux server is much more effective for the following reasons:
Linux is an open source operating system, which means it’s free of charge. The majority of hosting providers like Tublat, prefers precisely Linux because its service can be offered at cheaper price than a hosting with a different operating system.
Another important benefit is the compatibility with other operating systems and application software that Linux has. It enables you to exploit languages such as PHP, MySQL or Phyton, and is particularly appropriate if you are going to install a CMS such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and many others web applications.
System stability and security
This is the most stable operating system you can come across. It doesn’t slow down over time, nor does it report irregularities while running processes. Linux servers don’t show memory loss and the usage time is often much better than other servers.
Complete and simplified control panel
There are several control panels but the most famous and used is cPanel. That's why we also have decided in Tublat to reward the quality, using Cpanel to manage the Linux hosting. This allows you to comfortably administrate all the services the hosting offer in one place. It's intuitive and easy to use even if you are a beginner and you need to creating new FTP users and email addresses or monitoring resources, creating subdomains and installing software with cPanel you’ve all just a click away.
Why you should chose Linux hosting for your website or CMS
If you are using or going to use a CMS to create your website such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and more you have to necessarily opt for SSD hosting and discard the option of HDD hosting even if it apparently might have cheaper prices.
This is because all these CMS work with dynamic databases, so that every visit by users turns into multiple operations of database consulting to access that website contents.
HDD hosting consists of rotating disks and every time the database is consulted, it means there is a movement of the head in search of the correct data. SDD units, have instead a saving system consisting of microchips, so the access to information is much faster because it doesn’t depend on physical movement.
For this reason we in Tublat, have decided to use only SSD disks in Linux hosting, and ensure your website the highest performance at a really affordable price.
How to migrate in few steps your website to Tublat
Transferring your website to Tublat is really simple! Just start to transfer your domain going to the specific Transfer domain section of our website, reporting the domain to transfer and the authorization code (also called epp code or auth code), which you can obtain from your current registrar/provider.
Buying a Tublat Linux hosting plan, for certain domains, we have decided to give you the free domain extension for one year. Find out if your domain is one of them by clicking here.
If you also need to transfer your website, there are different ways to do it.
Let's see how to proceed taking an example of a website created through a CMS and another in HTML.
If you have a CMS (so a website in WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.) first thing back up all your files, later export the database files and from your previous provider.
Once you’ve chosen a Tublat Linux hosting plan and access to the client area, just click on "My services" and then on "Active" in correspondence of the plan you purchased.
So you have to "Login to cPanel" and scroll up to the section called "Database" (fourth section), after that click on "MySQL® Database" voice to first create the database and right after the user with the privileges, that you will then have to match to the new created database.
Then return to the "Database" section and this time click on "phpMyAdmin" voice, where in the specific section "Import", you can import database files obtained from your previous provider. In the end you can migrate via FTP your website files previously extracted in your new web space offered by Tublat.
If you have an HTML site (without database) instead, you will only have to migrate the files via FTP.
Let's see how to transfer files via FTP.
You have to access in the client area in "My services" section, then click on the "Active" voice in correspondence of the plan you purchased to "Login to cPanel" and click on "FTP Account" to create the FTP account you’ll need to migrate datas.
To transfer files via FTP you can also choose to use a Client as FileZilla, inserting the following datas:
- Host: ftp.yourdomain.com
- Username: the username you create
- Password: the password you decide to use
- Door 21
